Investment Process

We believe firmly that every investment advisory program should contain at a minimum these three parts:

  1. Riskalyze Profile – Used to help identify a person’s appetite for risk.
  2. Morningstar Hypothetical – Used to illustrate detailed historical information on either a current or proposed portfolio.
  3. Investment Policy Statement – which is the cornerstone of a comprehensive investment plan that addresses both investment guidelines and governance principals.

An effective Investment Policy Statement should address issues such as:

  • portfolio return objectives
  • relevant risks
  • asset allocation guidelines
  • asset allocation rationale
  • provisions for rebalancing
  • portfolio and asset class benchmarks
  • the manager due diligence process

Once the Investment Policy Statement has been established, we will review and update at least annually to ensure that we remain focused on the risk and return objectives.
